hello I'm your super intendent dr. Francis Esparza I hope you're doing well during this challenging time students and staff and Family Safety is our number one priority State Health officials have made it clear that the safest place to be is home during the covid 19 pandemic with that in mind I need to inform you that our campuses will remain physically closed for the end of the school year our decision alliance with the recommendation from the Los Angeles County Superintendent of Schools dr. Debra duardo she has recommended that schools remain physically close for the rest of the academic school year importantly while campuses are closed school is still in session and instruction will continue we recognize that this decision comes many challenges online learning is a new experience for all of us the California Department of Education the Los Angeles County Office of Education and our leadership teams here in El Rancho each day to identify solution to support this new learning environment I would like to take a moment to acknowledge our teachers are El Rancho staff and our students who are demonstrating amazing crates an out-of-the-box thinking to strengthen online learning thank you also to the caregivers at home for all of your support El Rancho Unified is working diligently everyday to identify external resources for funding and Partnerships to provide Wi-Fi connectivity and other materials that families need to support the learning at home distance learning is our new and in our new reality we must be patient as we adjust to this new learning experience however I feel confident that each day distance learning is improving and build our existing expertise and harness the power of partnership and collaboration to ensure our young people continue to learn and grow together we will rise to this challenge as a part of our effort El Rancho continues to working on providing Educational Services via online everyday Monday through Friday as well as food services and you can find that at R3 Middle School steam River middle school and North Park Academy of the Arts from Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. including during spring break know that I'll Rancho privates in creating the best opportunities for students and families I want to thank you for your support during this crisis and know that my messages will continue to be more frequent to ensure that all families know the latest information on Skookum City Topix as we move forward we will be using the same creativity to identify virtual ways to celebrate and engage in our spring traditions of dances promotions and graduation remember it is important for your child to connect with his or her teachers and classmates the daily we need to keep our lines of communication and collaboration open we know the situation can be stressful but I'm proud of how our community has come together and some Creative Solutions to an unprecedented challenge I'm confident that working together we will rise to the challenge thank you for your time
