Wellness Policy

This policy supports the mission of the El Rancho Unified School District by providing the environment that cultivates maximum student potential. Nutrition and physical activity influences a child’s development, health, well-being and potential for learning. To afford students the opportunity to fully participate in the education process, students must attend school ready to take advantage of their learning environment. This wellness policy encourages all members of the school community to create an environment that supports lifelong healthy habits. Decisions made in all school programming need to reflect and encourage positive nutrition messages and healthy food choices. It shall be the policy of the Board of Education to give all students the knowledge and skills necessary to make nutritious food choices and healthy activity choices for a lifetime.
