greeting to Rancho family as we move forward on this road to reopening El Rancho school I wanted to take a moment to give you an update of our roadmap on January 19th El Rancho Board of Education took a position election to extend the closure of our school this decision was based on the current state of the pandemic and also with the guidance from the Los Angeles County of Education as well as the Los Angeles County Department of Health this means that students will continue with online distance learning through April 9th on April 13th El Rancho Board of Education and the district cabinet will meet to discuss and decide if the conditions are safe enough for students and staff to return for tools for the remainder of the school year if it is decided that a safe return is not possible yet then the El Rancho School Board of Education and the district cabinet will meet on May 4th to begin reviewing the possum turn for summer school and or for the 2021-2022 school year please understand that the pandemic has made it hard to establish a solid timeline for reopening at school continue to use data from Los Angeles County Department of Health Data on the level of covid-19 in our community stakeholder input and other local measures such as vaccine rate also as you probably are aware the covid-19 Nathan efforts are well underway in LA county currently the best scene is available to healthcare workers long-term care facility residents and people who are age 65 and older beginning in mid February Boyd in the field of Education child care food and agriculture will be eligible to start making appointments to receive the vaccine pending availability know that there is a limited supply of the vaccine available and local testing sites may have limited ability to make appointment so please keep trying you can schedule an appointment online by visiting my turn. Ca.gov screening now we're all hoping for an end to covid-19 teachers and staff Miss teaching in our classrooms we know our students miss the traditional classroom instruction and the social aspect of being among their peers their friends know that we are committed to bringing everyone back safely is possible and we will continue to provide updates regularly thank you for your time and your continued support they safe and continue to be around so strong and wear your mask
