Greetings El Rancho families. This is your Superintendent Dr. Esparza. As we continue to increase our safety measures at all El Rancho Schools, I want to discuss some of the protocols that are being put into place in each of our classrooms here in El Rancho Unified School District. First and foremost, we want our students, our parents, and our staff to feel confident that they will be safe when they return to our schools. As we continue to plan for the different phases to reopen our schools, Phase Two- our Small Cohort Model and Phase Three - our Hybrid Model, know that all students and staff will return to a learning environment that is centered around their safety. We are adding floor and wall markings to help safely guide students as they travel throughout our campuses. The El Rancho Unified School District has purchased large numbers of cloth face masks, disposable masks, and face shields for both students and adults. Protective gloves and aprons and numerous bottles of hand sanitizers have been delivered to all our sites and we're continuing to place hand sanitizer dispensers in public areas throughout the entire district. Each student and staff member will be provided with a portable plexiglass shield that can be placed on their desk or work area. As students enter their school, their temperatures will be taken as another step and precaution to help ensure the safety of our students and staff on our campuses. Classrooms will have limited number of desks to allow for 6 feet of spacing between our students and each class will have an Air Scrubber commonly known as an Air Purifier, as well as new filters being added into all our air conditioning units and the planning for windows to be replaced or repaired is actually happening now for adequate ventilation. Also our campuses will be equipped with canopies so that our students can enjoy learning in outdoor areas too. Our maintenance staff will continue to support our schools with the cleaning of bathrooms and common areas every 30 minutes of a school day. Parents, please know that the safety of your children and our students, as well as our staff, is our top priority. We want you to feel comfortable in sending your children to school knowing that they will be learning in a clean, safe, and healthy environment.
