El Rancho High School Band

El Rancho High School Band recently visited Washington DC. The students were able to visit many exciting places including the Smithsonian Museum, toured the US Capitol, Colonial Williamsburg, VA, The White House, Arlington National Cemetery and many of the memorials on the Mall.

The band also attended a live concert of "The President's Own" Marine Band at which the conductor, Colonel Colburn, honored the students by coming to speak and pose for photo'.

The band also performed at President Washington's home at Mount Vernon, VA, The Symphonic Band received an EXCELLENT rating at the Dixie Classic Music Festival and were honored to perform for the wounded military and veterans at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

It was a very rewarding experience for the students.

Free E-Waste Recycling Event

Support our students by recycling your unwanted electronic waste. Items accepted are computer monitors, televisions, printers, laptops, copiers, scanners, fax machines, toner cartridges, cell phones, power suppliers, VCR/DVD players, etc. Fluorescent light bulbs, refrigerators, washers and dryers are NOT accepted.

When: Saturday and Sunday, May 17 & 18, 2014
9:00 am to 4:00 pm (rain or shine)

Proceeds from this event will benefit the El Rancho Education Center.

Spring Into Health Fair

The El Rancho Unified School District will be hosting its 4th annual Spring Into Health Fair on Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 9 am to 1 pm at the El Rancho Education Center, 9426 Marjorie Street, Pico Rivera. Join us for this FREE event as we promote health awareness and education for the whole family in a fun, supportive environment. Community partners will provide information on Covered California – California’s new affordable health coverage exchange, free health screenings, free immunizations for children ages 5 to 19 and information on community services. El Rancho High Choir Southern California Tour

The El Rancho High School Choraleers and Choralettes have had an award winning season! The performing groups participated in the Heritage Festival at Disneyland at which 37 choirs from throughout the United States participated. The Dons Choraleers placed Gold and the Choralettes placed Silver with the Choraleers taking 3rd place which qualified them for an invitation to the Carnegie Hall Festival in New York. This is the first time since 2008 that the Choralettes and Choraleers placed Gold and Silver. Congratulations on an outstanding year!

Library Media Technicians Recognized

The City of Pico Rivera, in collaboration with the Friends of the Pico Rivera Libraries has partnered to celebrate National Library Week (April 13-19, 2014). In recognition of this special week, the Pico Rivera City Council recognized ERUSD Library Media Technicians for their efforts in promoting literacy and education at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, April 8, 2014.
