Total Solar Eclipse Event – August 21, 2017

It is going to be an astronomical day of school for El Rancho Unified School District on August 21st when we get to experience a total solar eclipse event for the first time since 1979. This is an amazing opportunity to learn about astronomy by experiencing a celestial phenomenon.

We recognize this unique opportunity to engage our students in one of nature’s great educational events, and also the importance of ensuring the safety of all students and staff. If teachers and students are planning to view the eclipse, they will need to use approved eyewear. Contact your school directly to learn of activities planned for the day.

El Rancho Unified families are encouraged to discuss with their student important safety guidelines. Safety guidelines may be found on the website links located on this webpage.
