Rio Vista Elementary - Mini Pitch Project

On August 20, 2024, Herbalife, LA Galaxy, and the U.S. Soccer Foundation unveiled a new mini pitch at Rio Vista Elementary School in El Rancho Unified School District during a community ribbon cutting ceremony in Pico Rivera. The project was funded through the LA Galaxy and Herbalife Joint Community Partnership Fund and reflected a shared commitment to providing students with a safe, dedicated space to play soccer.

This project marked a significant milestone for Pico Rivera as we unveiled the new mini pitch at Rio Vista Elementary School. The initiative enhanced the community recreational facilities and provided our youth with new opportunities to engage in soccer and develop valuable life skills. The District is grateful for the partnership with LA Galaxy, Herbalife, and the U.S. Soccer Foundation, which made this vision a reality.

The mini pitch transformed an underused area into a vibrant facility with futsal goals at each end and branding from LA Galaxy, Herbalife, and the U.S. Soccer Foundation. Measuring 60 x 120 feet, the new SnapSports surfacing was designed to maximize grip and performance while supporting player safety for all ages.

This mini pitch was part of the U.S. Soccer Foundation "It is Everyone's Game" movement, which had delivered more than 700 mini pitches across the country with a goal of reaching 1,000 by 2026. Through this and future projects, LA Galaxy, Herbalife, and the U.S. Soccer Foundation continued to promote soccer, healthy lifestyles, and youth development in communities like Pico Rivera.
