Total Solar Eclipse Event – August 21, 2017
INFORMATION ON THE SOLAR ECLIPSE IN OUR AREA
In the Pico Rivera area, we will experience a partial eclipse (weather permitting). This means that for the August 21st school day, the moon will begin to cover the sun at 9:05 AM PDT. The coverage will continue to increase until it reaches its maximum coverage at 10:21 AM PDT, at which point the moon will be covering 62% of the sun. The moon will continue moving off of the sun until 11:44 AM PDT, at which point the sun will be completely visible again.
