Congressional Art Competition

Congratulations are in order for El Rancho High School student, Steven Posada for his entry in the 11th Annual 38th Congressional District High School Art Competition An Artistic Discovery.  Steven was recognized at a recent private exhibit and awards reception for his artistic 3rd place winning creation.  He was awarded a $300 gift certificate for art supplies and was presented with a certificate of achievement.
The Congressional Art Competition is a nationwide opportunity for high school students to demonstrate their artistic abilities and to recognize the importance of the arts in education.  Students were encouraged to express an idea about how they created a magical moment, or simply savored one that unfolded on its own.  All eligible entries will be exhibited at the Congressional District Office.  The second place winner’s artwork will be on display in Congresswoman Linda Sanchez’ office for one year.  The overall winner will have the honor of attending a ceremony in Washington, D.C. and the artwork will be exhibited in the U.S. Capitol for one year.
