ERUSD Ethnic Studies

The ERUSD Ethnic Studies program has gained significant attention across the state.  In May 2016, an Ethnic Studies study tour was held at El Rancho High School.  There were over 7 local district teams that attended to see our Ethnic Studies courses in action, talk with our teachers and administrators, listen to our students, and learn from our model.  An article was recently published in UCLA's XChange issue regarding our collaborative implementation process.  Read more here.
This summer we also had approximately 70 students enrolled in Introduction to Chicano Studies in partnership with Professor Vasquez-Ramos and CSU Long Beach.  ERHS teacher Juventino Gutierrez also supported the class as a co-facilitator.  Each student earned 3 units of college credit.  Hear more about their learning experience at this link:
