El Rancho Unified Highlights

It is remarkable to see the changes that have occurred in our school district over the last two years. Collaboration, creativity and innovation are the behaviors evident across our district. The El Rancho Unified School District was the first district in California to have its Board of Education boldly adopt an ethnic studies or cultural awareness class as a graduation requirement that will foster cultural understanding and global citizenship. El Rancho High School was named a California Gold Ribbon School and Title I Academic Achieving School. Rio Vista Elementary School achieved National Blue Ribbon status. The STEAM Academy @Burke became the first magnet school in ERUSD. El Rancho and Salazar high schools both received a six year accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

We have partnered with Cal Poly Pomona and Project Lead the Way at El Rancho High, North Park Middle, Rivera Middle and the STEAM Academy @Burke that will lead to more students selecting careers in science, technology, engineering and math. We have established Academies in addition to the STEAM Academy @Burke at Valencia Elementary, Magee Elementary and North Park Middle. We will launch a Dual Language Academy at South Ranchito Elementary in August, 2015. Our Student Services Department received six grants totaling $9 million that will bring services to our students. We have completed our 25 year Facilities Master Plan to bring 21st century buildings and classrooms to our students.

Our unique partnership with the City of Pico Rivera, Generation 1st Degree and the Pico Rivera Chamber of Commerce is benefiting our students as one city and district serving OUR community. Join us on our journey as we become “Second to None.”
