ERUSD Seeks Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee Applicants for Measure "EE"

Voters in the El Rancho Unified School District approved Measure "EE" on Tuesday, November 2, 2010. Measure "EE", a $52 million bond measure, was put on the ballot to construct and improve local schools and student support facilities, improve student access to computers and classroom technology, build vocational technical classrooms, provide improvements to better maintain schools, and provide renewable energy improvements to reduce operating costs and put more money into the classroom.

The District is currently in the process of recruiting one individual to fill a vacancy on the Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee for Measure "EE". The committee has been established to monitor all bond measure projects and expenditures, provide proper oversight, controls, and accountability to ensure that bond measure funds are used as they were intended, and make regular reports to the community on the progress of the bond measure projects.

Current Vacancies:
1) Member active in a business organization representing the business community located within the El Rancho Unified School District.
2) Member representing a parent or guardian of a child enrolled in the El Rancho Unified School District.

Completed applications must be returned no later than Friday, December 6, 2013 to the Office of the Superintendent, 9333 Loch Lomond Drive, Pico Rivera.

Rio Hondo College Foreign Film Festival

The Rio Hondo College Communications and Languages Division will host a free Foreign Film Festival on Thursday, November 7, 2013 in the Wray Theater. There will be four screenings throughout the day and evening in Spanish, French and Chinese, all with English subtitles. Rio Hondo staff will provide a brief commentary prior to each film to provide historical, social, political and other academic context. Rio Hondo College Veteran's Club Comedy Night

The Rio Hondo College Veteran's Club will host its 6th annual Veterans Comedy Night on Wednesday, November 6, 2013. This event will take place at the Wray Theater. Doors will open at 6:00 pm and the show will begin at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $10 pre-sale and $15 at the door.
