Free Latino Heritage Fiesta

Rio Hondo College will be hosting a free Latino Heritage Fiesta. There will be live music with a special guest performance by Grammy Award Winner, Poncho Sanchez, Music by Son Cinco as well as a performance by Dance by Raices Peruanas. Join the fun with interactive family activities, a photo booth, food trucks and more!

When: Saturday, September 20, 2014

Time: 1:00 - 5:00 pm

City of Pico Rivera College Institute for College Admissions

The City of Pico Rivera will be hosting a College Institute for college-bound students in October. The series will focus on guiding students through the college application process, financial aid, scholarships and grants. Additionally, students will meet with counselors from UCs, CSU’s, Community Colleges, Independent Colleges and Universities. This program is open to Juniors and Seniors with at least a 2.0 GPA. Applications are due by September 15th.

Pico Rivera City Challenge

The City of Pico Rivera will be holding an American Red Cross Blood Drive. Join the community in its challenge to be one of the best city donors. Donate one pint and save three lives.

2014-2015 Calendar Dates Announced

The new school year will kick off on August 20 when ERUSD will welcome students back from summer break.

Holidays include Labor Day on September 1, Admissions Day on November 10, Veterans’ Day on November 11, Thanksgiving Break on November 24-28 and Winter Recess on December 22-January 9.

Other holidays include Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on January 19, Lincoln’s Day on February 9, President's Day on February 16, Spring Recess on April 6-10 and Memorial Day on May 25.

The final day of classes for the 2014-2015 school year is June 11.

LCAP and LCFF

A public hearing for both the district budget and the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2014 beginning at 5:00 p.m. (closed session) in the Student Services Building. Public session will begin promptly at 5:30 p.m. This is an opportunity to provide commentary on the district's budget and LCAP. Written comments can also be sent through our "Contact Us" tab. The documents are available for your review below.
