Future Don Night Slated at El Rancho High

El Rancho High School invites the community to learn more about El Rancho High at its Future Don Night which is slated for Thursday, March 12, 2015 beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the school’s main gym. Future Don Night is an opportunity for students and parents/guardians of incoming 9th graders to become familiar with El Rancho High. This event offers an opportunity for students and parents to learn about high school graduation, college entrance requirements, activities, the arts, sports and extracurricular activities as well as a chance to meet teachers, counselors, coaches, administrators and other helpful staff. Future Don Night is only the first in a series of activities developed to assist students and parents in making a successful transition from middle school to high school and beyond!

Generation First Degree - College Financial Aid Town Hall

Generation 1st Degree Pico Rivera will host a FREE workshop for Pico Rivera families to learn how to pay for their child's college education from top experts. Specialists from area universities, financial institutions and scholarship foundations will be available to answer questions.

All Pico Rivera families, especially those with young children and preteens are highly encouraged to attend as well as parents of children in high school. Free childcare and Spanish language translation will be provided.

Measles Outbreak

An outbreak of measles has become widespread nation-wide. Measles is a highly contagious disease and can be serious for young children and some adults. Although measles has not become a problem in the El Rancho Unified School District, information on symptoms and how to prevent the disease can be accessed by clicking on the title above.

If your student contracts or is exposed to measles, a clearance from a medical doctor to return to school is required. Low cost immunizations are offered through the Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital Care Force One mobile clinic every first and third Tuesday of each month from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm at El Rancho High School’s north parking lot. Children must be accompanied by a parent or adult over the age of 18 to receive services.

Los Angeles Lakers Honor Rivera Middle School Student

Congratulations to Rivera Middle School student, Carlo Lopez on receiving the Los Angeles Lakers Student of the Month award for January 2015. The Lakers honor students every month who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to academia, athletics and community outreach. Carlo will be honored during half-time at an upcoming Lakers basketball game. Way to go Carlo!
